Hello friends. I hope this finds you well. My new serger has finally arrived, and I’m spending today repairing a stack of clothing that was starting to unravel from the old Brother’s belabored ministrations, and just maybe, starting the assembly of my True Bias Southport dress. Here is what the sewing blog world was up to this week:
In an absolutely unshocking turn of events, you guys are sewing Morris Blazers up the wazoo. This floral sateen version on Little Betty Designs is gorgeous. And I’m quite keen on this slouchy, “boyfriend” take from What Katie Sews.
My beloved Monseratt has gone cuckoo bananas for the Mabel skirt.
Lori’s Camas blouse is perfection.
Major case of the wants for Kelli’s ikat Alice Dress over on Sew Sweetness. I need to make this pattern immediately.
Karen is such a babemonster in her red lace dress.
A truly magnificent party dress on Petit Main Sauvage.
I loved Sophie’s post this week on “Love to sew vs. Love to wear”. We’ve all been there at some point. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum these days – I’m trying to inject more fun into my sewing versus sewing really practical things all the darn time.
Gertie is releasing a new fashion sketchbook with real lady bodies. Hear bloody hear!
Oh this? Just a mariachi band serenading a beluga whale. NO BIG DEAL.
This shot for shot remake of the More Than Words video by Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon was basically a time machine to 1990. All of the yes.
Ann Street Studio won instagram the night of the Met Gala. Here is the feed of my dreams. Also? SOLANGE. She’s my favourite Knowles sister, hands down.
