Back with my first weekly round-up of 2015! Hope all of you had a great weekend. Finally finished up all my accounting for last year and I’m going to spend the week sewing samples like mad for the new pattern. I’m also starting to volunteer at a women’s shelter making Sunday dinners every other week, and I’m looking for input on cheap, nourishing, people-pleasing dishes I can easily make on my own for about 20 people at a time. Please leave a comment if you have any recipe suggestions! Nervous about working in an unfamiliar kitchen but I love feeding people and I’m hoping it will jumpstart my personal cook-jo, since my solo dining habits have been pretty abysmal lately.
Cassie is a lucky girl; having Handmade by Carolyn for a mom means you get beautiful white outfits like this for Christmas.
Utterly enamored with Mainely Dad’s Missoni jacket.
This plaid dress from Tea Okereke is sublime.
Amanda consistently makes the most polished, ladylike garments. This white lace skirt is no exception.
Have you been following Sunni’s fabric posts on A Fashionable Stitch? She’s making me crave wool in an almost feral way. This mustard Hollyburn skirt is IT for me right now.

I like to fly Air Porter in Canada because the flight attendants wear pillbox hats and great uniforms. Check out this great history of airline history fashion.
Ever wonder how McCalls and Vogue choose vintage patterns to re-issue? Check out this post with their social media coordinator Meg on WeSewRetro. They don’t have an archive. The heart breaks, just a little.
I love Miranda July. Even more so after reading this interview in the New York Times about her reading choices. She totally disses Garfield.
If you were following along with Serial, you probably got a little obsessed with Jay. He is a a lot more sympathetic after reading this exclusive interview. The prosecutor also has some stuff to say in this interview.
This week’s animal odd couple video: cat + squirrel.
