ed: This is an April Fools post, just in case you’re stumbling on it after the fact. There are pictures of men in very skimpy underpants, so you’ve been warned!
Hi everyone! While I’m gearing up to release my summer pattern I started working on something else, something quite different from my usual style. As you probably know, the selection for men’s patterns is quite small. Of course, Thread Theory are doing awesome work in that department, but I had an idea for something that doesn’t exist on the market and figured it would be a great gift for the man in your life, or a fun project for the guy sewists out there.
As you know, I like to name my patterns after bloggers who inspire me. This pattern is named after the godfather of men’s sewing: Peter Lappin from Male Pattern Boldnesss! Peter has always been a huge source of knowledge, inspiration and pure reading pleasure, and this pattern was designed exclusively for his impressive talents.
Introducing: The Peter!
The Peter is a comfortable, supportive, easy to make thong for men. Women aren’t the only ones who struggle with panty lines so I think this pattern will be a welcome addition to any man’s underwear drawer. Have a half yard and an hour or two? Try The Peter! I recommend modal knit blends since they breathe the best, but any stretch fabric will perform well. You could really have fun with some novelty prints with this one (snake print? gold lame? stars and stripes? Let your imagination run wild!)
Like all of my releases, I wanted to add a few fun options. I think this bodysuit version is quite unique, and would make a pretty cute couple’s outfit when paired with my Nettie pattern. The Peter is a big bang for your buck!
I’m also quite fond of this “racerfront” variation. So sporty! The Peter is very versatile.
This is the first time I haven’t modeled in my own photos! A big thanks to a couple of my neighborhood firemen for showing off this pattern to its biggest advantage!
The pattern is currently available in my store. Can’t wait to hear what you think!
