Morgan Boyfriend Jeans // Styling Inspiration

Hey folks! So thrilled by your amazing response to our new pattern, the Morgan Boyfriend Jeans. I think its our best-selling pattern debut yet, so thank you very much! An extraordinary amount of time went into engineering Morgan, and I can’t wait to see how you make them (I’ve been reposting some of the tester versions on Instagram in case you’re curious!)

Today I want to share some of the inspiration I’ve collected while working on this pattern. Because of  Pinterest algorithms (ie. robots who seem to always know what I’m working on, not creepy at all), my entire feed was basically jeans for months at a time. I managed to build quite a crazy collection of inspo images on some of my pattern inspiration boards. Here are a few favourites.

One of my favourite things about this style is how much fun you can have with styling. It’s effortless and cute with sneakers and a blazer or a classic tee, but I also love the contrast of masculine/feminine when worn with a pair of heels.

DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS

Artful distressing is a natural choice for these jeans, and creates that chic “Oh, this old thing?” vibe I’m always chasing after. I especially like a really distressed jean with a clean, minimalist top; the contrast is great. I’m working on some distressing experiments in the studio if you’d like to take a cheese grater to your Morgans down the road…

INSPIRED BY LEVIS

All I’ve been seeing lately is vintage Levis 501s; some of you may roll your eyes and  think its just 90s nostalgia, but these jeans have been around for over 100 years. They’re too classic to be trendy. I tried tracking down a pair myself but its an absolute nightmare trying to find any that fit. Designed for men’s bodies, they really only work on ladies with narrow hips and small bums. That said, I’m very much in love with the classic 501 stonewash fade and I’m hoping to have some interesting results for you next week on achieving it at home, so stay tuned…..
