I‘ve never been an “it bag” sort of person. While some of my other fashion-loving friends change their purse as often as I change my mind about what to watch on Netflix, my bag style is pretty low key. I rotate among a small selection of vintage Coach bags, pretty much 365 days a year (camel goes with everything). Lately I’ve been wanting to mix it up, so I started hunting on Etsy for beautiful handmade leather bags and found some gems; while I still gravitate towards simple styles and shapes, I love the effect of metallic and coated leather, and fun details like contrast topstitching, tassels and pretty hardware

If I still had a Christmas list, all of these would be on it, although I am keen to start making my own bags this year. I am even considering designing a pattern for my dream satchel, but in the meantime, handmade artisan bags from small businesses are not a bad compromise.

In celebration of the upcoming holidays and starting your own Christmas list, Etsy is generously donating a $50 gift card to one lucky winner. To enter, fill in the Rafflecopter form below and tell me in the comments section about your bag style: purse hoarder? Coach collector? Random grocery tote carrier? I’ll randomly pick a winner next week!
