Blazer of Glory Challenge Week 6: Set in Sleeves, Shoulder Pads & Sleeveheads

If you are following along with this challenge by now you are probably starting to see a beautifully structured vest! This is the week we turn that bad boy into a blazer! Time to get the iron hot, bust out all your pressing tools, cause we are going to set in some sleeves! You probably tried this when you put together your muslin, but sleeves are tricky! That said, if you take your time, let your pieces rest between steps, and keep our favourite mantra in your head (“sometimes good is good enough”) then you should be fine! If you are still scared, and you haven’t yet bought the course, Heather walks you through all kinds of tips and tricks for setting in a beautiful sleeve.

The other steps we are tackling in this week are the shoulder pads and sleeveheads. In case you missed it we put together a free pattern and tutorial for making your own last week. Our tailoring kits come with everything you need included or you can use them pre-made from anywhere! So many options…so get to it! Just make sure to use the #BlazerofGlory tag when showing us your sleeves to be eligible to win this week’s prize(s)! Yes! Two!

One lucky winner will be getting a 50$ gift certificate to the fabulous D & H Fabrics as well as a 3 yd. cut of your choice of blush or silver linen supplied by them. Another winner will be receiving the same choice of linen as well as a 50£ gift certificate to The Fold Line, a wonderful pattern resource located in the UK. They have just about every pattern on the market so there is sure be something you’ve had your eye on…

We are almost to the finish line, so remember to take your time and enjoy the process! It will be over before you know it. Happy sewing!
